June 18-19th, 2010

 at the Richland Township Park.

Thank you to all those folks who helped with the St. Timothy’s booth for the Richland Relay for Life, June 12-13th.

St. Timothy’s Team had several participants including many celebrating cancer survivors.  We collected close to $3,000 in personal donations and the sale of chicken breasts, hot dogs, brats, Plainwell Ice Cream and Silpada jewelry.  The weather cooperated and was beautiful for most of the event which made walking the track during the 24 hour period very enjoyable.

A special thank you to Allison and Catherine E. who made our beautiful luminaria bags, Kings Kids who helped serve food and Larry R. (Barb R.’s brother in law) who walked most of the night and brought over $400 in donations from Ohio!

In total the Richland event raised close to $80,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Pete H. and Susan B.

P.S.  We have extra Relay T-Shirts available for sale for $5 each.

Walk With Us

Come walk with us on the road to a cure.
With laughter and tears, its a good time for sure.
You'll be glad you came as you walk through the night
knowing with your help we are winning this fight.
The first lap's for victory, survivors stand proud.
They march round the track to the cheers of the crowd.
The next one's for families, who help them get through,
And stood there beside them with love, strong and true.
We are here to fight cancer, we'll keep coming back.
Until there is a cure, we will return to the track.
We'll walk in the moonlight, we'll walk in the sun,
For 24 hours each year till we've won.
So come and walk with us, how glad we'll all be,
When someday we walk in a world cancer free.
